Transforming Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management with CDRlive
With 2.6 million active subscribers, MTC Namibia has been a key player in the telecommunications industry for over 26 years. They provide voice and data services to individual and business customers through an extensive network infrastructure. The adoption of the CDRlive Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) since 2019 has strengthened MTC’s operational capabilities by processing more than 36 different feeds and handling around 1.5 billion CDRs per day.

Challenge
Several challenges existed in MTC’s environment demanded strategic solutions. Firstly, staying abreast of new network technologies like 5G presented the need for the inclusion of new data sets in monitoring tools. Secondly, the management of increasing complexity and disjointed data from multiple monitoring systems hindered the attainment of a comprehensive view. Thirdly, the exponential growth of raw network data posed challenges in tracking, loading, and analysis. The need to combat increasingly sophisticated criminal syndicates exploiting network vulnerabilities was a critical concern. Additionally, coping with a multi-vendor environment complicated Datawarehouse maintenance and integration. Adapting to new partnerships and commercial models led to billing rule complexities and errors. Finally, addressing reduced proactive measures to prevent revenue leakage became an essential aspect of our operational focus.
Solution Approach
The implementation of the Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management System followed a strategic approach

Testimonial
“One portion where the CDRlive EDW helped us a lot was on a partner’s USSD codes. It helped us as Commercial to have a fast and clear insight into what is going on, and where we should make changes. This change has made a significant difference since July 2021 and is still very much relevant today.”
